The Board of Firearms Permit Examiners is a civilian review board that hears appeals from individuals who were denied firearms permits or had their permits revoked. An an individual must appeal within ninety days of the denial or revocation. The failure of an issuing authority (police, state police, muinicipalities, etc.) to respond to an application in a timely manner (eight weeks) is considered a constructive denial and an appeal may be taken. 

Written and testimonial evidence may be presented to the board. Decisions of the Board may be appealed to the Superior Court.
