HOW TICKETS FROM OTHER STATES CAN SUSPEND YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE

Traffic tickets from other states--states other than the one that issues your license--can trigger consequences in your home state. Most states are on a national compact and share a database of tickets and suspensions. A suspension in one state could very well suspend or prevent the issuance of a driver's license in another state. A state other than the one that issued your license can suspend your non-resident operating privileges within its borders. That will likely be reported to your home state. In Connecticut and most other states, failing to answer, pay or appear for a ticket triggers an administrative suspension. The bottom line is that you need to respond to tickets wherever you receive them. If there is a hold on your license in another state, you must address it there.
